Tools: Mechanical Pencil (rough sketch) / 0.2 Black Ink Pilot Drawing Pen (outline) / Photoshop Elements 6.0 (colour) / Mouse
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A few people wanted to see a basic step-by-step process of how I digitally colour images with a mouse.
Traditional Ink Outline to Digitally Coloured Image
(Rough Sketch not included as I rarely scan my rough sketches unless I'm not inking the outline).
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I mainly use 3-4 layers sometimes more depending on the drawing, my background layer is
always transparent in case I want to add anything new through underneath (this is mainly
due to the main outline being done traditionally, as if I want to add even the smallest thing in,
I need to add it too the main Ink Outline layer first and I find this way the best as to not disturb
the rest of the image), the second layer is my Ink Outline and the third is a duplicate of the
ink outline layer with the layer mode set to Multiply so I can easily add colour to the
image with a mouse!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you want to know anything more just ask!
